So over the weekend my husband was putting a new floor in a flatbed trailer and he was hammering and sawing and in all that work….a little piece of something went in his eye.
He comes inside holding his eye open with his hand and says come look and see if you can see something in my eye. Well I looked, and sure enough, there was a little sliver of something there.
Now my hubby cannot stand for anything to get close to his eyes…he will blink himself to death. So he is trying to hold his eye open and he wants me to take a tissue and see if I can get the sliver off his eye. Yeah right. I know that he will never be able to hold his eye open and I am wishing we had some eyewash.
Then I had a brilliant idea…so I say what if I get the eye drops the doctor gave you the last time you got something in your eye and we see if the eye drops will wash it out. (Yes, hubby has a bad habit of getting stuff in his eyes, he really should wear safety glasses when he works.)
So, I go to find the eye drops…and he is all like… hurry I can’t keep holding my eye open..and I am wondering why he thinks he needs to hold it open… but I don’t say anything because he sounds kind of upset.
So I find the eye drops, and I put a few drops in his eyes and he said (rather loudly) my eye is burning, I have never had eye drops burn like that, what kind of drops are those?
I said they are what the doctor gave you, Bausch and Lomb eye drops. He said let me see them and then he said these are not eye drops.
Did you know that Bausch and Lomb made ear drops? I just saw the words Bausch and Lomb when I picked up the bottle…you know I could’t really see those other little bitty letters without my glasses…and I forgot that bottle was ear drops for when I had an ear infection.
Well, the drops worked because his eye watered so much that the little sliver of whatever it was came right out. He did forgive me, after his eye quit burning.
