It’s fair enough that companies use a variety of techniques to grow their business. What’s not fair is when they use deceptive marketing tricks to fool us into parting with our hard-earned cash. Unfortunately one of the biggest industries targeted by such scum is the weight loss industry.

One of the ways that companies selling weight loss products get you to part with your money is through free trials. If you’ve done any research on the subject, you will know that free trials are plentiful. You’ll also know that you’re supposed to give over your credit card details in order to cover the shipping costs.

What you might not realize is that your credit card info won’t just be used for the shipping. It will also be used to sign you up to auto-shipping of their product. So every month you’ll end up with products you don’t really want turning up at your door. Unfortunately these products are also incredibly expensive.

If the company was honest about it and made it very clear why you were filling in your credit card details, then this would be OK. You would know what you were getting yourself in for and therefore make an informed decision.

Alas, this is not the case.

Instead they tell you in the small print. And who exactly actually reads the small print anyway?!

So if you’re looking for different products to speed up your weight loss efforts, then be very alert to such scams. Also, tell your friends and family about it so they don’t suffer the same fate that so many have done so already.

Before buying from any company, make sure you find out whether they are legit and do a search for reviews. Be very wary of websites that pretend to have reviews but are simply sales pages so that the owner can make money from if you buy the product.
